Affiliate disclosure

International Driving Permit Checker (https://bordertriptools.com/idp) earns nothing today: no link on this tool pays us a commission. Transparency rules — the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) in the United States and consumer-protection law in the EU — require us to say clearly when a link can earn us money, and this page says the opposite just as clearly.
Active affiliate programs
- Amazon — plain, untagged links to Amazon search results. We are not in the Amazon Associates programme and earn nothing from them.
There is currently no affiliate relationship on this tool at all.
What is NOT affiliate
The links that carry the actual verdict are official, unpaid references:
- AAA and AATA — the only two issuers authorized by the U.S. State Department to sell IDPs to US drivers.
- U.S. State Department country information pages.
- United Nations treaty registries for the Geneva 1949 and Vienna 1968 road-traffic conventions.
We receive no compensation from any of these organizations. Nobody pays to appear in a verdict — verdicts are computed from a versioned dataset of treaty and government sources, never from commercial relationships.
A warning about paid "IDP" sellers
No online seller can issue a legitimate "instant digital IDP". For US drivers, only AAA and AATA are authorized. We will never link to unauthorized IDP vendors — affiliate or otherwise.
